JT MANUKAN GRILLE

A friend has been telling about this “JT’s Manukan Grille” for some time now, and as usual, I’m always intriqued by the possibility of good cheap food. We got a chance to go there for dinner last night, and I was pleasantly surprised

The main branch (where we ate) is along the Ortigas Avenue Extension (corner Valencia), It’s owner is a famous Filipino actor Joel Torre, which explains the various pinoy movie related posters adorning the walls and doors (”JT” appears to be his initials).

The food focuses on chicken inasal, with other typical pinoy grill foods to add a little variety. I was not disappointed, this was the best chicken inasal I’ve ever had!

If you're looking for an air-conditioned restaurant, I'm afraid JT's Manukan is not for you. The atmosphere in this simple Inasal house is warm and friendly. It’s basically a sidewalk eatery

Incredible India

India- a country that is rich in culture...i had different view of it before going but it all changed when i came back to Dubai...now I am missing India...the incredible India.

April 16 - departed from Dubai via flight EK514 but before that maraming issue pang dumating sa buhay-opisina ko...parang ayaw pa akong paalisin kasi binigyan ako ng maraming trabaho... i let nick do the "more" packing. we were planning to take just 2 small bags for us but when i was packing, i've decided na yung luggage nalang ang gamitin because i sweat a lot. george picked me up sa office while si nick ay nauna sa airport. at the plane, i just watched a japanese movie entitled "Shaolin girl". syempre naaliw ako... and noticed na may isang flight attendant na hawig ni keanu reeves...walang ganda. hahahah. arrival in delhi. we were wondering kung ano itsura ng driver namin kasi we have to drive for 4 hours going to jaipur. ayun, nakita na namin, feeling ko ihipan ko lang sya e tumba na. ok naman sya but he doesnt know how to speak in english so i just checked my guide book and look for "most commonly used" words from it. parang wala akong natandaan...

April 17 - ayan, 4 hours na at wala pa kami sa jaipur...nawawala na pala kami...reached jaipur and it took us 30 mins to look for the hotel...hindi pala alam ng driver....so ayun....natulog t hen nagising (malamang).... took bfast then off to Amber Fort...feeling ko artistahin si watashi kasi dinumog kami ng mga tao....para bentahan ng kung ano ano...people stare at us kasi maliliit mga mata namin...the tourist guide here is well informed, in fairness sa kanya...alam nya lahat...nabasa na kasi namin sa guide book ang mga info and we let him tour us sa pamamgitan ng kanyang angking gift of touring....mabait pa sya...sumakay kami sa isang elephant papanik sa bundok..naawa ako sa elephant kasi i know na ang nasa isip bng elephant e " ano ba ito, elephant din ang binubuhat ko" hahahaha. then marami pa ring makukulit na nagbebenta ng sandalwood carvings, hindi nakakirita kasi pipilitin ka hanggang bumili ka...at bumily ako...only to find out na sobrang mahal pala ang binigay ko... kaya sabi ko sa kanilang lahat , " ipersonally believe in karma and i know you believe it too"....o diba, hindi ako pwedeng magmaganda at baka poksahin nila ako doon at ipadeport, hahaha. weve seen lots of things....bumili ng kurta (indian traditional outfit) then off to city museum sa city center nila....it was good naman, different tourists...uwi ng bahay p;ara magpahinga kasi may dinner kami that night sa isang indian resto called "indiana" with matching kurta...yun nga it took us an hour to look for the resto while took us just 10 minutes of going back to the hotel... sabi nga ni nick na cool lang ako....peronaging cool lang ako kasi may free tour of the city center ito...we ordered buttered chicken and requested to make the food mild spicy...ayun mild spicy e naiyak ako dahil sa anghang....lahat kami muntik maluha dahit sobrang spicy so we requested them to make it no spice at all...and they did it...so we enjoyed the meal....uwi na...then narealized na natatae ako,... grabe mahapdi pala talaga kung kumain ka ng spicy food!!! as in, it was a burning feeling!!! so hindi na ako kakainin ng spicy food... ayun, tulog na...

April 18 - nick and i went to the spa center to have an ayurvedic massage, hindi naappreciate, yun lang then travel from jaipur to agra...another 4 hours...stop over para kumain ang driver, pinagtinginan na naman kami....feeling astista...and kids were looking and smiling at us.... nakarating na kami sa agra and head straight to Oberoi hotel...maganda ang hotel, as in...overlooking the Taj Mahal.. they told us that the architechture of this hotel is base sa Mogul empire palace and courtyard...it was fascinating....then diretso kami sa Taj Mahal and we went in for free kasi that day pala was the UN heritage site day...so if its free, then lots of people....pero keri lang...umuwi na at nagswimming sa ala-palasyong swimming pool...then dinner sa isang indian resto uli sa hotel with new sets of kurtas....then ayun, tulog uli. hahahaha

April 19 - bumalik kami sa Taj Mahal with a tourist guide na then pumasok sa loob ng Taj with matching stories about the Taj Mahal...who built it...the purpose...for whom...then check the inside of it...iwas made in a pure marble...then lumabas sa likod and realizing that the Raj was planning to make another Taj which is called The Black Taj...kasi yugn Taj Mahal is just for his queen na si Mumtaz Mahal and the black one ay dapat para sa kanya pero pinakulong sya ng anak nya kaya hindi natapos, puro foundation nalang....took lunch then uwi na papunta delhi...it took us 4 hours again papunta sa airport....airport na, uwi na...

It was really fun to see India. I want to go back to check more places...because u can see many interesting places there...every state gives a different feeling of India (well, thats what i read)...
